Exposing the Truth: A Testimony Against Vanity Galleries
Hello fellows creators
At WeScanArt, we believe in empowering artists and providing genuine opportunities for them to showcase their talent to the world. However, recent events involving a close friend of one of our artists have shed light on the dark truth behind vanity galleries.
Our artist friend, with promises of fame and recognition. Like many aspiring artists, Alex was thrilled by the prospect of exhibiting their work in a prestigious gallery and eagerly accepted the invitation. Little did Alex know, they were about to embark on a journey fraught with disappointment and deception.
Teravarna Gallery presented Alex with a tantalizing array of opportunities: solo exhibitions, marketplace visibility, access to prestigious platforms like Artsy, and the promise of social media promotion. However, each opportunity came with a hefty price tag and empty promises that left Alex feeling exploited and betrayed.
First, Teravarna Gallery demanded exorbitant fees for participation, preying on Alex’s passion for art by charging exorbitant amounts just to exhibit their work. Then, they enticed Alex with the allure of cash prizes and recognition, but only if they paid even more money to enter their so-called “artist grants program.”
Next, they tempted Alex with promises of marketplace visibility and access to Artsy, a revered platform in the art world. However, these promises were contingent upon subscribing to their costly plans, leaving Alex feeling trapped and disillusioned.
But the deception didn’t end there. Teravarna Gallery showered Alex with meaningless certificates of recognition and shallow social media promotion, all while profiting from their aspirations and dreams.
Alex’s experience with Teravarna Gallery serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by vanity galleries in the art world. These galleries exploit the hopes and dreams of emerging artists for their own financial gain, offering empty promises and hollow opportunities in return.
At WeScanArt, we stand firmly against the exploitation of artists and the deceptive practices of vanity galleries like Teravarna Gallery. We are committed to providing artists with genuine opportunities to showcase their talent and connect with art enthusiasts around the world.
Together, let us expose the truth behind vanity galleries and demand transparency, fairness, and integrity in the art world.

At WeScanArt, we strive to support and uplift emerging artists, but recent events have compelled us to shed light on the deceptive practices of certain vanity galleries in the art world. One such incident involves a close friend of an artist we work with, whom we’ll refer to as Sarah.
Sarah was approached by a vanity gallery with promises of fame and recognition, presenting her with a series of enticing opportunities: solo exhibitions, marketplace visibility, access to prestigious platforms like Artsy, and the promise of social media promotion. However, each opportunity came with a hefty price tag and empty promises that left Sarah feeling exploited and disillusioned.

They enticed her with the allure of cash prizes and recognition, but only if she paid even more money to enter their so-called “artist grants program.” Furthermore, they insisted that marketplace visibility and access to Artsy were contingent upon subscribing to their costly plans.
Despite these promises, the reality was far from what Sarah expected. The gallery provided little to no actual exposure or opportunities for her work, instead focusing on extracting as much money as possible from unsuspecting artists like Sarah.
